Mountaineers Postponed
July 23, 2014 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
Vermont Mountaineers News Release
Montpelier, Vt. - Wednesday night's New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) contest between the Vermont Mountaineers and Sanford Mainers has been postponed due to inclement weather in Central Vermont.
Late afternoon thunderstorms coupled with very heavy rain delayed the original 6:30 p.m. start time by 40 minutes, but the threat of more showers later in the evening led to the postponement of the game. The two teams reached a tentative agreement to play a doubleheader in Sanford on Monday, July 28, with the games scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Each game will be seven innings in length.
The Mountaineers return to action on Thursday evening, when they travel to Massachusetts to battle the Plymouth Pilgrims. The opening pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. The game can be heard locally on CBS Sports 1240 WSKI and online at thevermontmountaineers.com.
