Mountain Lions Open Player Tryouts Set for Tomorrow and Sunday

Sacramento, CA - Tuesday, May 10, 2011 - The Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League will hold two OPEN PLAYER TRYOUTS in Sacramento this weekend.

The Mountain Lions, coached by Dennis Green, will hold a tryout on Saturday (May 14) at Foothill High and on Sunday (May 15) at Natomas High. The tryouts will run from 9 a.m. to noon on both days.

The Mountain Lions held their first of three open player tryouts at San Diego High on Saturday, May 7. They have already added two players from that tryout to their active roster - tight end DOMINIQUE JONES (Shepherd University) and defensive end BRIAN COULTER (University of Missouri).

Players can register online for this weekend's tryouts at http://www.ufl-football.com/tryouts/molos or they can register in person between 7:30-8:45 a.m. on the day of the tryout. Pre-registration is encouraged and the registration fee is $60.

These tryouts are for all positions, including kickers and punters. Athletes will be timed in the 40-yard dash and will participate in a series of individual and team drills.

"Our entire coaching staff is excited about the opportunity to have these tryouts," Green said. "All the players who came (to tryouts) last year worked hard and quite a few made it to training camp."

The UFL season will begin in August. The game schedule has not been finalized yet.
