December 20, 2010 - United Football League (UFL 1)
Sacramento Mountain Lions News Release

Sacramento Mountain Lions quarterback DAUNTE CULPEPPER has been chosen as one of the 50 Greatest Vikings, a list which was officially revealed Sunday night during the "Minnesota Vikings: Celebrating 50 Seasons" event as part of the final celebration of the Vikings' 50th season.

"I am really honored to be selected," Culpepper said. "It will tough to be on the sidelines watching instead of playing."

Culpepper and the rest of the 50 Greatest Vikings will be honored tonight when the Vikings play host to the Chicago Bears at TCF Bank Stadium - the franchise's first outdoor home game in exactly 29 years.

Culpepper played for the Vikings from 1999 to 2005, arriving in Minnesota as the franchise's first-round draft pick in 1999. In seven seasons, Culpepper played in 81 games and started 80, completing 1,678-of-2,607 passes (64.4 percent) for 20,162 yards, 135 touchdowns and 86 interceptions (91.5 rating). He also ran for 2,476 yards and 29 touchdowns in his Minnesota career. In his time in Minnesota, Culpepper was a three-time Pro Bowler.

Playing his 12th professional football season in Sacramento in 2010, Culpepper started all eight games for the Mountain Lions. He paced all United Football League signal-callers in attempts (300), completions (183), completion percentage (61.0) and passing yards (1,944), and was tied for first in the league with 10 touchdown passes. Culpepper started at least eight games in a season for the first time since 2004 with the Vikings.
