
Motter Hits Walk Off, Biscuits Score Five in the Ninth

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (60-68/25-33) won 7-6 against the Tennessee Smokies (64-63/31-27) with a Taylor Motter walk off, three-run homer on Tuesday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
The Biscuits entered the ninth trailing 6-2. Kes Carter led off with a single then consecutive-errors loaded the bases. An infield single from Leonardo Reginatto scored the first run while a sac fly from Jake Hager made it a 6-4 game. With runners on first and second, Motter played the role of hero and belted a three-run shot giving the Biscuits a 7-6 victory.
Reginatto went 2-for-2 with three RBI's after coming in for Ryan Brett at second base in the sixth inning. With bases loaded in the seventh inning, he singled to left to drive in the Biscuits first two runs of the game.
Smokies hit three-consecutive doubles in the first inning to lead 2-0. Tennessee jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the seventh inning with a grand slam from Addison Russell.
Albert Suarez pitched well only giving up two earned runs off four hits with three strikeouts in six innings of work. Bryce Stowell (3-2) pitched a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the victory.
C.J. Edwards struck out seven batters and gave up two hits with no runs in five innings. Frank Batista (4-1) pitched 0.1 innings and gave up four runs off two hits for the loss.
Game four of the series will start tomorrow night at 7:05 pm CST. LH Grayson Garvin and RH Pierce Johnson will be on the mound.
