Montgomery Biscuits News Release
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (59-68/24-33) left 16 runners on base and committed four errors as the Tennessee Smokies (64-62/31-26) won 7-1 Monday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
The Biscuits struggled mightily against Smokies starter Corey Black and left the bases loaded twice without scoring. Black gave up six hits, one earned run, and walked two batters in five innings for the win.
Alejandro Segovia brought life into the Biscuits with a solo homerun in the fourth inning to make the score 1-1. Taylor Motter went 2-for-3 singling twice to lead the Biscuits batting surge.
In the eighth, the Smokies brought 10 men to the plate and scored five runs to make the score 7-1.
Dylan Floro pitched 7 innings and gave up two earned runs, seven hits, and struck out three batters. Floro threw very effectively by inducing 15 ground ball outs and held the Smokies to only two runs.
Game three of the series will start tomorrow night at 7:05 pm CST. The pitching matchup will include right-handers Albert Suarez and C.J. Edwards.
