Normal CornBelters News Release
NORMAL, Illinois - The CornBelters have re-signed three-year outfielder Ty Morris to 2018 Frontier League roster.
The 6-foot-1-inch 190-pound outfielder re-joins for his fourth professional season in Normal. Ty played his collegiate career for the Otters of California State University Monterey Bay for three seasons. During his career in Seaside, California, Morris had a stellar fielding percentage as well as a strong on-base percentage. As a sophomore, he led his team to the Pacific Coast Conference Championship and was named first-team all-conference.
Morris played in 66 games last season, third most amongst the CornBelter outfielders. The switch-hitter batted .188 last season in 154 appearances at the plate. In addition, the speedy ballplayer stole 16 bases last season and looks to use that element of surprise whenever he can.
