Harrisburg Heat News Release

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Heat today announced that defender Chris Morman and defender/midfielder Matt Tanzini have both signed offer sheets. As per club policy, terms of the offer sheets were not disclosed.

Morman, 24, is entering his third season with the Heat. The graduate of South Carolina finished third in league Rookie of the Year balloting following the 2000-01 season, during which he set a Heat single-season record with 78 blocks. Last year, Morman blocked another 68 shots, set a career high with 36 points, was voted to his first All-Star Game, and ended the season wearing the captain's armband for the squad.

Tanzini, 26, is also entering his third season. After suffering a season-ending injury early in his rookie year (2000-01) with the Buffalo Blizzard, Tanzini joined the Heat last season and by the end of the year had become a lethal two-way presence, scoring 33 points over Harrisburg's last 13 games. He finished the 2001-02 campaign with 15 goals, 48 points, and 36 blocks.

On Wednesday, Harrisburg traded defender Nick Corneli to the Kansas City Comets in exchange for forward Ato Leone as new Head Coach Erich Geyer continues to build his first Heat club.

The Heat will officially open preseason training camp on Monday at Sports City on Linglestown Road in Harrisburg.
