
Heat Opens Training Camp Monday

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Heat will officially open preseason training camp this coming Monday at the club's official training facility, Sports City on Linglestown Road in Harrisburg.
Geyer's emphasis on physical fitness will be on display early, as the Heat will open camp Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. with a two-mile run on the track at Milton Hershey High School, ending at approximately 10:00 a.m. The club's first training session at Sports City will take place that afternoon from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The club will continue working out at Sports City throughout the week. Morning sessions at Sports City Tuesday through Thursday are slated to end at approximately 12:00 noon, and afternoon sessions will run from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. The Heat will return to the Milton Hershey High School track Friday morning from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. Geyer plans to give the players Wednesday afternoon off.
Players will be available for interviews immediately prior to and directly after all sessions at Sports City. Formal arrangements can also be made by contacting Heat Director of Public & Media Relations Phil Yerger at 717-233-8172. It is suggested that media arrive a half hour ahead of the scheduled practice end time.
Harrisburg will see its first game action on September 21 and 22 in a preseason tournament in Baltimore, facing the host Blast on Saturday the 21st at 5:00 p.m. and the Cleveland Force on Sunday the 22nd at 11:00 a.m. The tournament will be held at DuBurns Arena in Baltimore.
The Heat will open its 2002-03 MISL campaign on Saturday, October 5 in Philadelphia against the defending champion KiXX (5:05 p.m.), and play three more road games (October 11 in San Diego, October 12 in Dallas, and October 26 in Baltimore) before taking the field for its home opener on Saturday, November 2 against the Dallas Sidekicks at 7:35 p.m.
