Frederick Keys News Release

Frederick, MD - Frederick Keys left-handed pitcher Nathan Moreau has been named Carolina League Pitcher of the Week for games played between June 28th and July 4th. Moreau no-hit the Salem Red Sox on June 30th in his Carolina League debut, the sixth no-hitter in Frederick Keys franchise history.

An 11th round pick of the Orioles in 2008, Moreau pitched three years at the University of Georgia. Moreau was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball after winning eight games for the Bulldogs. As a sophomore, Moreau led Georgia in wins and then pitched in the college world series in his junior campaign. A starter for a second season in Class-A Delmarva, Moreau was 2-1 with a 1.88 ERA in that role after moving back into the Shorebirds rotation in mid-May. He was called up to Frederick when Keys starter Rick Zagone was promoted to Double-A Bowie on June 30th.
