More Talons to the AFL

Two players from last season's Championship Talons team are making the move to the AFL. The Arena Football League announced that both FB/LB Odie Armstrong, and OL/DL Joe Johnson, has joined the Arena Football League's Orlando Predators.

As a rookie, Odie Armstrong played in 7 regular season games, leading the Talons in rushing with 153 yards. He had 7 receptions, and scored 50 points. On the defensive side, Armstrong recorded 7 total tackles (6 solo). Armstrong came to the Talons in 07 from the Northwestern Oklahoma State, where he was named NAIA-Second Team All-American in 2005.

Joe Johnson returns for his third year in arena ball. He joined the Talons in 06 as an OL/DL from Central Missouri State. In the last two seasons he has played in 19 regular season games. Prior to the Talons, Johnson was an active player of the Scottish Claymores and spent pre-season time with both the Montreal Allouttes and the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.

"The Predators are getting two very good football players. Both Joe and Odie are extremely hard workers who deserve this opportunity to showcase their talents at the next level. Everyone in our organization wishes them the best of luck," said Talons Head Coach Mitch Allner.

The Orlando Predators will open their season at Philadelphia March 1st, 2008 as they take on the Soul.
