BOARDMAN, Ohio - The Mahoning Valley Thunder is pleased to announce that James Peremenis has been assigned to the team by the arenafootball2 League Office for the 2008 season. FB/LB Peremenis (6-2, 275) played last season with arenafootball2 Alabama Steeldogs.
Peremenis, joined the Steeldogs with six regular season games left on the schedule and helped the team earn a playoff birth. James attended Carson Newman College, Tennessee and was named to the First Team All-SAC, Division 2 (South Atlantic Conference) and received an All-Southeast Conference Honorable Mention for his solid line play in 2006.
"We are fortunate to add James to the team, he is the kind of player that easily could be on an AFL roster," Thunder Head Coach Mike Hold said. "His size and athleticism will be a great addition at fullback for the Thunder offence."
The Mahoning Valley Thunder schedule is now released , with the team opening the season at home on Saturday March 29.
