More Spring Baseball at Historic Fleming

Wilson, NC - The Wilson Tobs are proud to announce the schedule for the Division 2 College Baseball Classic #2 to be held at Historic Fleming Stadium beginning on Thursday, March 5th and ending on Friday March 13th, 2020.

"It always feels good to put on this event and get the chance to add new schools to our College Classic. We are grateful each year to be able to host very competitive D2 college ball here in Wilson, NC. By continuing to bring baseball to the Wilson area year-round, we are providing everyone with consistent entertainment throughout the year, steady business to the local Wilson community, and a warmer destination for these college programs," said Tobs General Manager Mike Bell.

The Classic will feature eight Division II college/universities. Four schools from the 2019 Classic will return this season to compete; California University of PA, Mercyhurst University, Ohio Dominican University, and Lock Haven University will compete against four newcomers to the Classic; Trevecca Nazarene University, Catawba College, Shepherd University, and local team Barton College.

For just $6, fans can purchase an all-day pass and enjoy a full day of baseball action at Historic Fleming Stadium. Gates will open one hour prior to the start of the first game of the day.

The Wilson Tobs home opener, Band Jam, and Firework Show for the 2020 season is Sunday, May 24th @ 6:15 PM. The 2nd Firework Show of the season will be Thursday, July 2nd @ 6:15 PM and a 3rd fireworks show being TBD. The Wilson Tobs enter their 24th season as a founding member of the Coastal Plain League. The upcoming season for the Tobs will see an expanded community outreach effort, increased participation in helping the less fortunate, a Pettit Cup Championship team, and more exciting entertainment for the Wilson Community. We would like to dedicate each successful season to the Wilson Community, Coastal Plain League Organization, Host Families, Corporate Partners, and the Dedicated Fans throughout the city of Wilson. The Wilson Tobs have played host to over 100 alumni taken in the draft and have produced a dozen players who have gone on to play in the MLB, including Cy Young & MVP winner Justin Verlander.
