More Improvements Slated for Volcanoes Stadium

Continuing their efforts to update and improve Volcanoes Stadium, the Walker family who built the Stadium in 1997 and still own the facility, announced plans to install all new LED Stadium Field Lighting. The change will result in an estimated 66.5% energy usage savings! The project received approval by the Oregon Energy Trust. Eco Green Solutions won the bid and was awarded the project. Work is slated to begin this week and is expected to be completed by mid-October just ahead of the artificial turf to be installed later in the month. The turf installation will make Volcanoes Stadium the first 100% fully turfed Baseball/Multi use facility in the Mid-Willamette Valley.

"The future of Volcanoes Stadium is NOW," exclaimed CEO Mickey Walker. "We are doing what we can to make the facility as nice as possible, maximizing year-round use and making it more affordable by lessening the costs of field lighting for the various users," said Walker. "Another win-win project!"

SLG Sports Lighting out of Houston, Texas will be providing the fixtures. Ninety Four (94) PRO SERIES Sparta Sports Light Gen1 850 Watts / 113,000 lumens. The lights feature engineered optics that direct the light precisely onto the field to shine uniformly and reduce glare. The system will also include the Avi-On command set controller that will provide remote management capabilities. The LED lights will be replacing the original Metal Halide lights that were installed when the Stadium was built in 1997.
