
Mooseheads Relinquish Rights to Eichel, Receive 2nd Round Pick

Halifax Mooseheads News Release
The Halifax Mooseheads announced this morning that they are relinquishing the rights to American Jack Eichel. The Mooseheads selected Eichel in the 2012 QMJHL Entry Draft, 15th overall. Based on QMJHL Draft rules and regulations related to 1st round picks, Eichel will now be eligible for selection in Saturday's 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft and the Mooseheads will receive a 2nd round pick (34th overall) as compensation for Eichel not reporting. The Mooseheads now hold two 2nd round picks, along with a 4th round pick (Cape Breton) and a 5th round pick, within the first 5 rounds for Saturday's draft in Chicoutimi, Quebec.
