Moose To Attend Walk-N-Wheel Event Sunday

(Rochester, August 18)... The Rochester Americans mascot, The Moose, will participate in the Alle Shea's Walk-n-Wheel for Better Bones on Sunday, August 23rd at West Irondequoit High School. Registration starts at 10:00 a.m. with the walk beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The Moose will join Mittsy from the Rochester Red Wings, along with walkers and wheelchair users, as they either walk or roll to help others living with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI).

In addition, there will be a silent auction and raffle to benefit the OI Foundation. Among the items you could take home are a signed picture of Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards, a Seneca Park Zoo membership, a Sentry safe, Mary Kay cosmetics spa pack, Professional Photographer Session with Amanda Padgham, lift tickets to Hunt Hollow Ski resort, tickets to a Rochester RazorSharks basketball game, tickets to a Rochester Knighawks lacrosse game, gift cards for Cheesy Eddies, the Cheesecake Factory, Target and Tastefully Simple.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is a genetic bone disorder characterized by fragile bones that break easily. It is also known as "brittle bone disease." The term literally means "bone that is imperfectly made from the beginning of life." A person is born with this disorder and is affected throughout his or her life time.
