Moose Re-Assign Smith to Inferno

Today the Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have reassigned forward Tim Smith to the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL.

Smith, 22, played one game with the Moose during his recall, failing to register a point .He currently leads the Inferno in scoring with 13 goals and 48 points in 37 games. He is fifth in scoring in the ECHL.

This was Smith's first recall the Moose this season. Last year, the Strathcona, AB native played in three games with the Moose, but failed to register a point.

He collected 22 goals and 75 points, along with 123 penalty minutes in 68 games with the Inferno in 2002-03, his first year of pro hockey.

Smith was Vancouver's seventh choice, 272nd overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
