Moose, Canadian Blood Services Team Up For "Great Save" Blood Donor
March 11, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manitoba Moose News Release
True North Sports and Entertainment and the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club have teamed up with Canadian Blood Services to stage the "Great Save" Blood Donor Clinic - the largest mobile blood donor clinic in Manitoba history.
The clinic will take place tomorrow, Friday, March 12, 2010 on the east side concourse of MTS Centre. The clinic will run from 8:00am to 3:00pm and all donors can enter MTS Centre through the south doors on either Donald & Graham or Hargrave & Graham.
Thanks to the enormous response from Winnipeggers, the "Great Save" Clinic will currently welcome over 578 appointments which puts Winnipeg on pace to break the national record set by a clinic in Toronto held just two weeks ago. The Toronto clinic collected 418 units of blood. The "Great Save" Clinic hopes to collect over 420 units of blood to help save lives in Manitoba.
Everyone who donates at tomorrow's clinic will receive a voucher for seven dollars off a single Manitoba Moose ticket for a future regular season home game along with a Canadian Blood Services and Manitoba Moose sponge puck.
As well, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Mick E. Moose and the Manitoba Moose M-Team will be on hand to greet donors. MEDIA ALERT (photo opportunity): Manitoba Moose Head Coach Scott Arniel will be donating blood at 11:45 a.m.
We're calling on all Winnipeggers to help us make history and help us save even more lives. For an appointment or more information about the "Great Save" clinic at MTS Centre, call 1-888-2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283) or visit www.blood.ca.
