Moore's Walk-Off Gives Indians Season-Opening Win

SPOKANE, Wash. - Dylan Moore will always be welcome back to Avista Stadium after his late-game heroics led the Spokane Indians to a 6-5 walk-off victory over the Hillsboro Hops on Thursday night. It was Opening Night Fireworks & AAA Magnet Schedule Giveaway presented by Les Schwab Tires, KREM 2-TV, 93.7 The Mountain, SportsRadio 1510 KGA and The Journal of Business.

Luis Parra earned the win after tossing two shutout innings to close out the game.

Moore stepped up to the plate with two outs and runners on first and second. The second baseman from University of Central Florida connected on a line drive to left field to score Ti'Quan Forbes for the win. Moore finished the game 2-for-5 and the deciding RBI.

Sherman Lacrus, who was on first during the game's final at-bat, collected three hits on the night with an RBI line drive to right in the first to score shortstop Yeyson Yrizarri to give Spokane a 1-0 lead. 2014 returnee Diego Cedeno followed with a ground-out RBI to score Forbes. Yrizarri finished 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

In the second, Yrizarri singled to center with two men on base, then advanced to third on a throwing error while the runners scored. Doug Votolato scored on a wild pitch in the sixth.

Hillsboro put up a fight, answering back in the next half inning each time the Indians scored. That is until Moore's ninth-inning single.

The Indians return home to Avista Stadium tomorrow, Friday, June 19th, for the season's first Yoke's $1 Family Feast Night!
