Washington Glory News Release

CHANTILLY, VA -- Jessica Moore ran over Rachel Folden in the fifth inning on a play at the plate and after some scuffling between the two, Moore touched home plate for the eventual game-winning run as the Glory took the final game of the series 2-1 at the Westfield Softball Complex.

Moore, who was pinch running for Oli Keohohou (1-for-2, RBI, 2 walks) came in from second base on a looping line drive over the third baseman's head by Callie Piper (1-for-2). Keohohou drove in the first run for the Glory in the first inning when she laced a single to centerfield to score Nicole Barber (1-for-4, run) for the game's first run. Keohohou would get picked off to end the inning but the Glory led early 1-0.

Folden, who homered in the first game of the series and was pitched to gingerly the rest of the series, took a 3-2 offering from Sarah Pauly (8-1) in the fourth to tie the game at one. The home run was Folden's fifth of the season and her only hit in three at bats on the night.

Pauly's six strikeouts on the game put her at 69 on the season, just three behind NPF leader Eileen Canney. Pauly now leads the NPF in wins by becoming the first pitcher this season with eight wins.

The two teams will take a pair of nights off and come together again, this time in Chicago, for a four-game series beginning on Thursday, July 10 at 8:05 p.m. EDT. The Glory return to Chantilly to open up a four-game series with Rockford on July 17. All four home games begin at 7:05 p.m.
