Sudbury Five News Release
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Five are pleased to announce the addition of 6'5" forward Josiah Moore as well as 6'2" guard Malcolm Duvivier to their roster for the upcoming season.
Moore comes to the Five as an experienced NBLC player having previously played for Halifax, Niagara and more recently London. The 26-year-old Oakville native spent a majority of his life living in Atlanta and attended Tennessee Tech. Moore has connections to both Head Coach Logan Stutz and Associate Coach Elliott Etherington as he was a teammate of Stutz and coaches by Etherington.
"Josiah has a lot of experience in this league," said Stutz. "He has really grown as a player and person.
He's the kind of guy we want in our locker room and fighting everyday in practice. I am looking forward to seeing him help us out this year."
"I'm really excited and honored to be playing for the Sudbury Five," said Moore. "This is my third year in the NBLC and I'm looking forward to bringing my hard work and leadership to this organization. A Championship is the only thing on our mind."
Duvivier was acquired by the Five earlier this summer in a trade with the Halifax Hurricanes. The 24- year-old Toronto, Ontario native played for the University of Akron where he averaged 14 points per game, while shooting 37% from the three-point line in his final season. Last season with Halifax, Duvivier was named to the 2019 NBLC All-Rookie Team and averaged 8 points per game and shot 40% from three.
"Malcolm was a player I had my eye on last year," added Stutz. "He brings toughness and pin-point accuracy on his three-point shot. One NBA player I always compared him to was Fred VanVleet. Sudbury is going to love watching Malcolm play."
With the addition of Moore and Duvivier, the Five roster sits at 12 heading into their opening game this Friday at the Sudbury Arena when they host the defending champion Moncton Magic. Game time is 7:05pm. Limited seats are still available at the Sudbury Arena Box Office and online at greatersudbury.ca/tickets. Season Memberships are still on-sale! Secure your seat for all the action as the FIVE look to level up this season!
