Montreal Triumphs in Overtime

The Montreal Juniors continued their winning ways on the road with an overtime victory over the host Drummondville Voltigeurs.

Charles-Olivier Roussel opened the scoring for Montreal with his first goal of the season at the 17:54 mark of the first period.

The second period was a goal festival for those on hand at the Marcel Dionne Centre. Drummondville evened the score early in the frame on a goal by Ondrej Palat at 1:46. Philippe Lefebvre put the visitors back on top with his 13th of the season at 5:16. Drummondville once again evened the score with a power play effort by Alexandre Comtois at 13:37. David Rose finished off the goal barrage with his 7th of the campaign with 1:12 to go in the period.

Drummonville once again fought back and scored with less than two minutes remaining the third when Julien Tremblay scored at the 18:08, thus forcing the game into overtime. Montreal enjoyed a power play advantage at the end of the third period and into the overtime period when Jonathan Ogilny was called for hooking at the 18.33 mark of the third.

It was Montreal, with time expiring in the penalty, who ripped victory away from Drummondville when Charles-Olivier Roussel scored his second of the game to seal the victory for the visitors.

JF Berube face 26 shots from Drummondville and his counterpart, Guillaume Nadeau, was peppered by 39 shots.

NOTES: Montreal will play two more games on the road this week before returning to the Verdun Auditorium next Friday, December 3rd against the Shawinigan Cataractes. Montreal will visit Rouyn-Noranda on Tuesday and Val-d'Or on Wednesday.
