The Montreal Juniors jumped to a 3-1 lead, and held off a late charge by Val d'Or to secure a 3-2 win and their 30th of the season Friday night in Val d'Or.
Francis Meilleur paced Montreal with a goal and two assists. Trevor Parkes continued his torrid pace of late with a goal and an assist, while Montreal's other marker was scored by Michael Clarke. Val d'Or goals came from Alexandre Carrier and Marc-Alain Begin.
JF Berube turned aside 15 of 17 shots to pick up the win. Jacob Gervais-Chouinard faced 26 Montreal shots in taking the loss.
NOTES: Montreal returns to host the Halifax Mooseheads Sunday afternoon at 3:05pm at the Verdun Auditorium.
