Toronto Rock News Release

TORONTO - Professional lacrosse returns to the province of Quebec on December 15, 2012 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, PQ. The game features the Toronto Rock and the Rochester Knighthawks meeting for the first time since last year's Eastern Division Final. The National Lacrosse League has announced that two Quebec players will play in this game.

A selection camp will be held on Saturday, November 17th at Le Club West Island in Beaconsfield. The two Quebec players will dress and play in the game, one with the Rock and one with the Knighthawks. The selection camp will be under the direction of former NLL head coach Jamie Batley.

"This will give players in that region a pretty unique opportunity," said Rock GM Terry Sanderson who coached the Montreal Express in their lone season in the NLL in 2002. "We are all working together to grow our sport and the league. There is a fan base there, and some talented players. I'm looking forward to seeing what type of talent emerges from this camp."

Pierre Filion, the Québec federation's technical director, is very enthusiastic about this opportunity offered to Quebec lacrosse players. ''This is a great opportunity for our players to be seen and evaluated by pro coaches. We have good players and we will endeavour to showcase them to the pros''.

Interested athletes must be 18 years old and over, must be members of the Quebec Lacrosse Federation or Quebec residents; participants must register to the selection camp before November 15th.

Tickets for the December 15th game in Montreal between the Rock and Knighthawks are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.eventko.ca.
