Montreal, March 15th, 2009 - The Montreal Junior got their final regular season home game off to a bang with four first period goals, to propel their way over Val d'Or in a 12-1 contest.

Montreal got themselves on the board early with the first of three power-play goals of the period, as Louis-Marc Aubry beat Foreur netminder Yan Bouchard. The goal would set off three more goals by the end of the period with Pier-Antoine Dion, Louis-Marc Aubry with his second of the night, and Junior leading scorer Nick Layton all scoring for the Junior.

The Junior would continue their power surge scoring another five goals in the second period. Matt Fillier put the Junior up 5-0, followed by goals by Jérémy Gouchie, Matthew Brenton and a third goal by Louis-Marc Aubry for his first hat trick. Samuel Grenache, after missing most of the regular season with a shoulder injury put the Junior up 9-0 as he found the back of the net at 16:23. Val d'Or would get their lone goal of the game at 17:19 with a goal by Matthew Lachaine.

Entering the third, the Junior up 9-1, Dmitri Kostromitin, Louis-Marc Aubry and Philippe Fontaine would all tally a goal to bring the final score, of their final regular season game to 12-1.

The Junior will now compete in the LHJMQ playoffs against the Rouyn Noranda Huskies. Game One will be held at the Verdun Auditorium on Friday March 20th at 7:35pm followed by Game Two 7:35pm.
