Mondi Magic Lifts Monarchs to Victory

Man of the Match: Midfielder Tyrone Mondi scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season, guiding Real Monarchs to a 2-1 victory over Colorado Rapids 2. Mondi put both of his shots on target, scoring from 40 yards out in the 8th minute to give the Monarchs the early lead. The South African also kept Rapids 2 on their heels with his creative play, recording two key passes in the match.

Telling Stat: Real Monarchs ended the season on a six-match home winning streak in MLS NEXT Pro, the longest home winning streak since 2019 when the Monarchs won five straight in the USL Championship on their way to winning the league title. Including the MLS NEXT Pro Invitational, the Monarchs are undefeated in their final eight matches on Utah soil, their longest since a 13-match unbeaten streak in 2019.

What You Missed: Real Monarchs defeated Colorado Rapids 2 at Zions Bank Stadium 2-1, ending the season on a five-game unbeaten streak, while also winning their last six matches at home. Tyrone Mondi scored early to give the Monarchs the lead, but after Rapids 2 equalized in the second half, Captain Pedro Fonseca scored the game-winner in the 86th minute off a pass from RSL Homegrown Bode Hidalgo.
