The 2005 WNBA Western Conference Champion Sacramento Monarchs will celebrate the franchise's first appearance in the WNBA Finals by participating in a Be Smart-Be Fit-Be Yourself clinic on Saturday, September 17 at The Ray Robinson Oak Park Salvation Army.
Children from The Ray Robinson Oak Park Salvation Army have invited all of the Monarchs players and coaching staff to their facility to congratulate the team on their outstanding accomplishment. As part of the WNBA Be Smart-Be Fit-Be Yourself program, the Monarchs will lead the children in exercises and discussions about the importance of nutrition and fitness in their daily lives
The WNBA embraces its responsibility as the preeminent women's professional sports league with its players as powerful role models. The WNBA Be Smart-Be Fit-Be Yourself campaign allows players to deliver important messages related to the areas of health, fitness, nutrition and self esteem. It also encourages teens and women of all ages to learn more about their bodies and the importance of physical fitness.
