
Monarchs Announce Signings

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that the Monarchs have signed defenseman, Harry Quast to a Standard Player Contract, and forward, Castan Sommer, to an Amateur Try-out Agreement.
Quast, 25, has played three games with the Monarchs, scoring one point on one assist since signing an Amateur Try-out Agreement on March 11. While at UNH, Quast played in 102 games over a four-year career, scoring14 points on two goals and 12 assists. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound defenseman is a native of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. In 2015-16, he played 33 games and tallied one goal and three assists for four points, with his goal coming in a home contest against No. 13 Notre Dame on Jan. 23.
Sommer, 25, played four seasons at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. During his time on campus, Sommer played in 148 games (fifth-most in school history), and recorded 64 points on 29 goals and 35 assists. In his senior season, Sommer played in 36 games and scored 18 points on eight goals and 10 assists.
The 6-foot-3, 181-pound native of Shrewsbury, Mass. had five career game-winning-goals for Holy Cross and was a three-time member of the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team, leading his team with a 3.93 grade-point average in his junior season.
Quast, Sommer and the Monarchs are back in action Friday night (7:05 p.m.), when they visit the Elmira Jackals at First Arena.
