
Monarchs Announce Roster Moves

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Craig Wyszomirski has been loaned to the Ontario Reign and the team has acquired defenseman, Tyler Elbrecht, in a trade with the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL).
The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.
Wyszomirski, 24, receives the first call to the AHL of his career after playing 40 games with the Monarchs this season, where he scored 11 points on four goals and 11 assists. Wyszomirski earned 27 penalty minutes and scored his first professional goal Jan. 14, 2017 against the Adirondack Thunder.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound native of Mahwah, N.J., was signed by the Monarchs on Mar. 17, 2016 after his collegiate career at Merrimack College (NCAA) ended. While on campus, Wyszomirski played 74 games for the Warriors, and scored five points on two goals and three assists.
Elbrecht, 28, comes to Manchester to complete the future considerations portion of a trade with the Mavericks that occurred when the Monarchs facilitated the trade of Zach Tolkinen from Rapid City earlier in the season. The left-shot defenseman played 47 games with the Mavericks this season and scored 14 points on four goals and 10 assists, while adding 121 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-4, 209-pound native of Edwardsville, Ill., has played 244 career ECHL games between the Idaho Steelheads, Toledo Walleye, Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Mavericks, scoring 47 total points on nine goals and 38 assists. Elbrecht played collegiately at Minnesota State University-Mankato (NCAA) where he was named captain his last two seasons.
Elbrecht and the Monarchs are in action Thursday, Feb. 16 (7 p.m.), when they face-off against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for the lone regular season matchup between the two teams at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
