Moloto Nets Team of the Week Place After Brace
May 15, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Nashville SC News Release
TAMPA - A brace means a place on the United Soccer League's (USL) Team of the Week for Nashville SC forward Lebo Moloto as the South African was rewarded for his stellar performance against defending USL Cup champions by being named to the 11-member All-Star squad.
His two goals against Louisville City propelled Nashville to its biggest win in its young history as the USL newcomer shutout the champs 2-0 in front of a packed crowd. While Moloto slotted his first two goals as a member of Nashville SC, he affected every facet of the game, completing 89 pct. of his passes. He put four shots of his five shots on target, before giving way in the 89' minute to a standing ovation.
It was the first multi goal game for any Nashville SC player in the USL this season, and with the two goals moved Moloto into second for goals for Nashville this season. The honor is the second one bestowed upon a Nashville SC player as Alan Winn made the team of the week after his performance in Nashville's win against Charlotte Independence in April.
Moloto nearly became the first Nashville SC player to be named the USL's Player of the Week as he finished second in Player of the Week voting.
Nashville SC will be back in action on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in its debut in the U.S. Open Cup against Inter Nashville FC. The game will be played at Vanderbilt Soccer Complex and tickets are available.
