MNUFC2 Announce Inaugural MLS NEXT Pro Season Schedule

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - MNUFC2 and MLS NEXT Pro announced today the full schedule for the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season. Highlighting the 24-game season are five games at Allianz Field and seven at the National Sports Center. All games will be streamed live on www.mlsnextpro.com. In addition, adidas, a founding partner of MLS NEXT Pro, will provide the Official Match Ball for all MLS NEXT Pro games.

MNUFC2 will kick off its inaugural season against North Texas SC at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, March 26 and will play its first home game at Allianz Field the following week on Sunday, April 3 against Kansas City. The season concludes at home at the National Sports Center against San Jose on Sunday, September 18, MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day.

The MLS Next Pro preseason for MNUFC2 began on February 22. Throughout preseason, the team will participate in four preseason friendlies prior to the start of the season, including one against USL League One side and former MNUFC-affiliate, Forward Madison on Friday, March 11. Other preseason matchups include University of St. Thomas and St. Cloud State University on March 4 and Creighton University on March 20.

MNUFC2 games will be available to the public. Tickets go on sale March 23 for the first three games at Allianz Field and start at $15, with special discounted pricing for Minnesota United Season Ticket Members. Information for tickets for the rest of the MLS NEXT Pro season will be announced at a later date.

Each MLS NEXT Pro team will compete in 24 regular season games, 12 home and 12 away, across 26-weeks, culminating on September 18 with MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day.

Prioritizing regional play, teams have been divided into two conferences, an Eastern and Western Conference, comprised of two Divisions in each.

Each team will play divisional opponents two to three times, as well as the other teams in their conference at least twice. A total of four non-conference matchups will take place during the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season.

A total of eight teams, four from each conference, will qualify for the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. This includes the top team from each division, and the two teams with the next most points in each conference.

More information about the Playoff Format and Schedule will be announced at a later date.

Streaming Information and Games of the Week

Fans will be able to watch every game of the MLS NEXT Pro inaugural season via live stream on mlsnextpro.com. In addition, more than 30 games will be billed as "Games of the Week", featuring enhanced productions. Each MLS NEXT Pro club will have at least one home game featured, and all playoff games will be enhanced productions.

For 2022, the league will be separated into two conferences - Western and Eastern - with each conference comprised of two divisions. Below is the divisional breakout of the MLS NEXT Pro teams:
