Real Monarchs Announce 2022 Regular-Season Schedule

HERRIMAN, Utah - In conjunction with the MLS NEXT Pro, Real Monarchs has announced its full 24-game regular-season schedule as part of Major League Soccer's lower-division league.

The Club's season is set to begin at Tacoma Defiance on Sunday, March 27 at 1:00pm MST, before returning to Zions Bank Stadium for the Club's Home Opener against Vancouver Whitecaps II on Saturday, April 2 at 5:00pm.

All Real Monarchs and MLS NEXT Pro matches will be available to stream live via www.mlsnextpro.com.

This year, MLS NEXT Pro has broken its teams into two conferences and four divisions, with Real Monarchs falling into the Pacific Division of the Western Conference with San Jose Earthquakes II, Tacoma Defiance, Portland Timbers II, and Vancouver Whitecaps II. The Monarchs will play each of their division opponents two to three times, as well as the other teams within their conference at least twice.

The schedule features 24 regular season matches, 12 home and 12 away, across 26 weeks, ending with MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day on September 18th. A total of eight teams, four from each conference, will qualify for the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. This includes the top team from each division, and the two teams with the next most points in each conference.

Notable games include a home matchup on July 16 against Sporting Kansas City II during MLS Next Pro's Rivalry Week, and the regular-season finale September 16 at Zions Bank Stadium against Colorado Rapids II on MLS NEXT Pro's Decision Day.

Real Monarchs are set to compete in MLS NEXT Pro for the 2022 season. This move comes after seven seasons in the USL Championship, during which the team won the 2019 USL Championship Cup, the 2017 USL Regular Season Shield and the Western Conference Title in both 2017 and 2019, while also qualifying for the postseason in 2018.
