Mke Wave Prepare to Feast on the Rampage Saturday Night in Iowa

November 23, 2016 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Milwaukee Wave News Release

After a disappointing overtime loss in Iowa last week, your Six-Time Champion Milwaukee Wave look for redemption this Saturday night, November 26th, as they once again visit the Cedar Rapids Rampage at 7:05pm CT.

"Our guys had two great games to come together as a team last week." said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero "We know we should had the win last Friday night against Cedar Rapids but after a great game Saturday in front of our fans, three hard days of work and some adjustments, we'll be ready to go!"

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05pm from US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

You can watch the game LIVE! & FREE! via MASLtv on YouTube.

"Honestly, I don't think our thanksgiving will be fulfilling until we get this win," said MKE Wave forward number 26 Ian Bennett. "We're going to eat a little bit of turkey on Thursday but I think we'll save some for after our victory Saturday night; that's when we'll really indulge with our Thanksgiving feast!"

Bennett was named to the Major Arena Soccer League's Team of the Week for Week 4 of action after the veteran forward scored four goals and two assists on the weekend, including a hat trick and assist against the Kansas City Comets in their home opening win on Saturday night at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

"Max (Ferdinand #26) was a big part of that," said Bennett. "We have a great partnership, have playing together for quite some time and we're good friends too so that just makes the game that much more fun!" ###

INTERVIEW WITH A GOALKEEPER: by Steve Squires.

Saturday Night (11/19) Max and Ian shared player of the game honors, but in my opinion just as important was the man between the pipes, Joshua Lemos. Joshua is a keeper for the Canadian Futsal National team and is a long time futsal player which explains his comfort with the ball at his feet even as he's often found pushing the fall up to midfield. I asked him how does it feel already having beaten both Baltimore and the Comets, two of the top teams in the MASL and biggest rivals of the Wave this early in your first season with the team?

"The whole team played fantastic..great effort from the guys! As for beating Baltimore and Kansas City, it was an honor to even be put in net for these matches and thank god he blessed me with the power to play the way I did and help the team the way I was able too. At the end of the day a goalkeeper is in net to make saves for his team, so truthfully I just did my job to the best of my ability. Now it's time to push forward and get the rest of the results we need."

A very humble response from a real difference maker in net. His 3.92 GAA is third best in the league despite the fact that his starts have come against Baltimore and Missouri. I think he has an extremely promising future as he's already shown a lot of poise and confidence (as well as some fire) in his first few games with the team.#
