Missouri Mavericks Three-Repeat as Top Team in Sher-Wood/CHL Power Rankings

Published on March 18, 2014 under Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

GLENDALE, AZ (March 18, 2014) - The Missouri Mavericks (40-17-2) have seen their lead on the current Sher-Wood/CHL Power Rankings (Coaches Poll) shrink thanks to the strong play and nine-game win streak of the Denver Cutthroats (35-15-10). The Mavs now lead by four points in the power rankings (87-83) and their conference lead and the race for the Bud Poile Governors' Cup is just two over the Fish.

The poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn 9 points, etc. Teams are not permitted to vote for themselves.

The Mavericks received six first place votes and the Cutthroats received four. The remainder of the top five is rounded out by Allen (74 points), Rapid City (67 points) and Quad City (55 points).

The only change in the current poll saw the Mallards and the Tulsa Oilers flip-flop the #5 and #7 position.
