
Mississippi Stingers to play season finale in Jackson

Greenville, MS. The Mississippi Stingers, the state's only ABA team professional basketball team, will host the Atlanta Vision in its season finale on Monday, Feb 28 at Tougaloo College in the Health and Wellness Complex. Tickets are $7 general admission and $15 VIP. The Stingers, coached by Andy Stoglin, former head coach at Jackson State University, are presently 21-3 and are ranked number one in the eastern division.
National recording artist Debra Robinson of Jackson will perform the National Anthem. The Jackson State University Boom Pep Band will be on hand to entertain the crowd and The Rich Boy will take center stage for a special 20-minute halftime show.
Ranked number two in the nation behind Utah, the Stingers roster includes: Tim Henderson, Reggie Taylor and Amie Williams of Jackson State University; David Sander of University of Mississippi; Branden Vincent, Detrick White and Horatio Webster of Mississippi State University; Dennis Douglas and Chris Sykes of Delta State University; Tyrone Davis of Coahoma Cummunity College, along with Steve Esselink, Reggie Elliot, Dajan Smith and celebrity player/owner Morris Britton of Jackson.
The playoff season for the Stingers begins Sunday, March 6th. The 2PM game will be played at the Washington County Convention Center in Greenville, MS. Second round of the playoffs will be held Saturday, March 12th at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS at 7PM.
