Last Night...: The Missions fell behind early and could never catch up, dropping their fourth straight game, a 10-3 decision to the Frisco RoughRiders ... Lance Zawadzki and Luis Durango had multi-hit games for the Missions ... Eric Sogard was hit on the hand in the seventh inning and taken to the hospital for pre- cautionary X-rays which came back negative ... the Missions have dropped nine out of their last 10 and six straight here at Wolff Stadium.
Dodge-Ball: Luis Durango notched a multi-hit game, going 2-for-5 with a pair of infield singles ... he has stolen team-high 37 bases on the season, tied with Frisco's Craig Gentry for the Texas League lead ... over his last nine contests, Durango has stolen seven bases without being caught.
The âPen is Mightier: Brandon Gomes has not allowed a run over his last nine appearances, a span of 10.2 innings pitched ... he has allowed only five hits and four walks while striking out 14 over that span ... he has struck out at least one batter in 16 straight and 22 of his last 23 appearances.
Deep Sixed: Last night's loss marked the Missions' sixth straight home defeat ... the team has not lost six games in a row at home since August 1-7 of 2008 ... four of those defeats came against Frisco, including a 7-4, 13-inning loss to open the slide.
The Cor(e)ys: Corey Kluber and tonight's starter Cory Luebke have both impressed since being called up from Single-A Lake Elsinore ... in six starts, they have combined for a 1.21 ERA, throwing 29.2 innings while allowing just four earned runs on 20 hits and 16 walks while fanning 21 ... opponents are hitting just .182 (20-for-110) against the pair.
The Drive for Five: Over the Missions last 20 games, they have scored five or more runs just five times, going 5-0 in those contests ... they have gone just 2-13 over that stretch when failing to reach the five run threshold ... the Missions are averaging just 3.4 runs per game over this span (7-13).
