Frisco RoughRiders News Release

Miguel De Los Santos' best start at the Double-A level resulted in a 2-1 loss to the San Antonio Missions Wednesday night at Nelson Wolff Municipal Stadium. De Los Santos (1-2) worked seven innings and struck out ten, both season highs for Frisco hurlers. The southpaw surrendered only four hits and walked one, but one mistake was the difference.

Following a leadoff single in the bottom of the fifth, San Antonio (13-6) designated hitter Cody Decker clubbed his Texas League-leading eighth home run. The RoughRiders (6-13) kicked off the game's scoring in the first when Tommy Mendonca singled home Guilder Rodriguez. Mendonca notched his eighth multi-hit game of the season with a 3-for-4 showing.

However, that was the 'Riders only base hit in eight at-bats with men in scoring position. Overall, Frisco stranded nine men on the bases.

San Antonio starter Matt Buschmann (2-1) held the 'Riders to one run on eight hits in six innings. Behind Buschmann, Josh Spence, Alexis Lara and Colt Hynes each tossed a scoreless inning.

The Missions have won six straight games and pull two games ahead of Midland in the South. On the flip side, the RoughRiders have dropped five in a row, with the last two coming by one run each.

These two teams wrap up this four-game series Thursday night at 7:05. Righty Carlos Pimentel will toe the rubber for the RoughRiders against fellow right-hander Anthony Bass. Pre-game coverage along the RoughRiders Baseball Network begins at 6:35.

QUICK HITS: With a 2-for-4 effort, Mike Bianucci extended his hitting streak to six. Over those games, Bianucci is 10-for-24...Rodriguez hit in the lead-off spot for the first time this year and went 2-for-5...San Antonio improves to 6-1 against South division foes.
