MISL Player of the Week
Leo Gibson, Rockford Rampage Rampage forward Leo Gibson, who was recently acquired from the Philadelphia KiXX, tallied seven goals and 15 points over the weekend, doubling his season points total to 30. In his first match for Rockford, Gibson had two two-point goals during an 11-8 loss to the Baltimore Blast. He then followed that up with a career-best performance against his former KiXX teammates. Gibson netted five goals and 11 points during the Rampage's 34-15 victory over the KiXX on Sunday. He surpassed his previous single-game career highs of four goals and eight points, which he ironically set Dec. 4, 2009, against Rockford. For the season, Gibson has 14 goals and 30 points in 11 games.
About the Major Indoor Soccer League The MISL represents the major league of professional indoor soccer, featuring the finest indoor soccer players from around the world. The league consists of five member clubs in 2009-10: the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Milwaukee Wave. The regular season will conclude on Sunday, March 21 with the postseason is set to start the following weekend. The Milwaukee Wave have clinched the regular season title and the Baltimore Blast have claimed the second-place spot; the Monterrey La RaZa and Philadelphia KiXX are still fighting for the final postseason berth. The second- and third-place teams will square-off in a home-and-home Semifinal series with the winner advancing to battle the top seed. Milwaukee will receive a bye in the opening round and will host the 2010 Championship Game on Sunday, April 4 at U.S. Cellular Arena.
