
Miracles Triumph over the Rainmen

(Halifax, NS) The Moncton Miracles beat the Halifax Rainmen in a fourth quarter battle with a final score of 90-86.
Darrell Wonge opened the scoring up for this game with a 3-point shot, which was simply a preview of some of the shots he would make this game. The first quarter ended with the Rainmen taking charge and finishing 20-17.
By the end of the first half the Miracles had taken a 39-38 lead, which mirrored the same match-up four days earlier. Halifax had been up 34-35 at the half and ended the game with a 4 point spread.
Moncton trailed until there was 3 minutes left to play in the game and finally took an 81-80 lead over Halifax. From there the team fought hard for loose balls and put back shots. In the end they paid back the Rainmen back for their 4-point loss four days ago.
Darrell Wonge led the way for the Miracles with 28 points. Sylvania Watkins followed with 22 points and14 rebounds.
Darren Duncan was the top scorer for the Rainmen with 16 points and 5 assists. Josiah Turner was right behind him with 15 points.
The Miracles play their next home game on Wednesday, November 14th against the Saint John Mill Rats. Tip-off is 7pm at the Moncton Coliseum.
