Mississauga Power News Release
(OSHAWA, ON) Durham's team, the Oshawa Power cruise to a 106-87 win over the expansion Windsor Express. The two Ontario teams exchanged runs in the first half, but it was the Power who went into the locker room with a three point advantage. (46-43)
The second half told a different story as the Power flexed their muscles and had the game in hand midway through the fourth quarter after a double digit scoring run.
Amani Daanish sparked the Power with his inspiring play in the first half, and finished the game with 14 points. William "Bo" Harris added 13 points, but it was Harris's defensive effort that would stand out.
Local Durham region stars Papa Oppong and Courtney Small went for a combined 18 points, doing it primarily from three point range nailing 5 threes between the two of them.
The Power now set their sights on hosting their rivals the London Lightning on Thursday November 15, 2012 with tip off at 7:00 p.m. in front of what will be a raucous General Motor Centre crowd.
The game also marked the first home win for new head coach, Larry Blunt who made his home court coaching debut.

Robert Brickey, who finished the 2011-2012 season as Head Coach will now step into a management role with the organization. Brickey had a record of 9 wins and 8 losses as Head Coach last season. Brickey ends the year with a record above .500 for his games coached after taking over a team that was 6-13 when he started.
