Miracles Get Run off Track by Express

(Windsor, ON) The Moncton Miracles, presented by Rogers, lost a fourth straight game to the Windsor Express with a final score of 98-102. The Miracles now sit with an 8-8 record.

The lead was tossed back and forth between the Miracles and the Express in the first quarter with the game being tied up on three different occasions before Windsor pulled ahead 22-24 at when the buzzer went.

Both teams came out even in the second quarter and dropped 23 points apiece finishing up the first half with the Express leading 45-47. Moncton continued to struggle at the free throw in the first half shooting 30% (3-10) while Windsor tripled them shooting 90.91% (10-11)

Windsor led by as many as 12 points in the second half of the game but Moncton would continue to push. With 25 seconds left to play in the game Miracles Tyrone Levett made a 3-point shot to shorten the Express' lead to 93-96. Moncton would have to foul to try and recover the ball sending Windsor to the line.

Darrell Wonge and Isaac Butts both led the way for the Miracles with 19 points each. Mikhail Torrance and Devin Sweetney followed with 18 points a piece.

Darren Duncan and Chris Commoms were the top scorers for the Express with 22 points each. Mike Helms was right behind them with 13 points.

Miracles Devin Sweetney was handed a technical foul.

Upcoming Community Events: The Miracles will be at Lower Coverdale School Monday afternoon for an assembly to talk about their School Pride Program. The team will also be visiting Gunningsville School and Harrison Trimble High School. They will also be helping pack food boxes for the Food Depot Alimentaire on Thursday from 12pm to 3pm. The Miracles play their next game on the road against the Saint John Mill Rats on Sunday, December 16th. Tip-off is 2pm at the Harbour Station. The next home game will be Sunday, December 23rd against the Halifax Rainmen.
