Miracles Fall in Game 3 to the Rainmen

(Moncton, NB) The Moncton Miracles lost in Game 3 of the NBL Canada Atlantic Division semi-finals to the Halifax Rainmen with a final score of 124-96 in front of 1,610 fans. The Rainmen now lead the series 2-1 over the Miracles.

Game 3 of the series would start with a high intensity with both teams hungry to take the advantage. Halifax would be first to score with Trayvon Lathan immediately answering at the other end for the Miracles. The Rainmen would finish the first with a 33-27 lead over the hometown squad.

Halifax would start to knock down outside shots and dominate in the paint to increase their lead. The Rainmen would lead by as much as 18 points in the second quarter and for 22 minutes holding on to the scoreboard at the half 64-48.

The top ranked Atlantic team would continue to strengthen their lead in the following 12 minutes of play to lead by as much as 32. The Miracles would start to make some shots late in the quarter but the Rainmen would still finish leading 94-67.

Technical fouls were handed out in the fourth quarter the Rainmen player Nigel Spikes as well as Head Coach Joseph Claros and Miracles Chris Matthews. Spikes would eventually pick up his sixth foul late in the game. Halifax dominated in the paint with 82 points compared to Moncton's 38. The Rainmen pulled down 59 rebounds and scored 59 points off the bench, while the Miracles had 32 rebounds and only 30 from the bench.

Daquan Brooks led the way for the Miracles with 25 points. Shawn Vanzant and Tyler Murray both added in with 14 points each. Miracles Zack Atkinson and Troy Brewer were sidelined with injuries.

Liam McMorrow dominated for the Rainmen with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Tyrone Watson knocked down 19 points, while Kevin Young had a double double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Clifford Clinkscales had 12 assists.

The Miracles are back at home Tuesday, March 10th against the Halifax Rainmen for Game 4 of the NBL Atlantic Division semi-finals. Tip-off is 7pm at the Moncton Coliseum.
