Miracles Do Happen-At the Miracles Christmas Parade on 34th Street
Lubbock, TX, December 8, 2005 - The inaugural Miracles Christmas Parade on 34th Street is a miracle of charitable proportions. The family event, which takes place this Saturday, December 10, at 6:30 pm, will benefit local non-profit organizations in Lubbock. Miracles are seals of a divine mission. The mission of the Lubbock Gunslingers, as the official Wranglers Sponsor for the parade, is to help raise awareness of the needs in our local community. Furthermore, the Gunslingers will be accepting donations at the parade for Relief Awareness and Laughing Children Smile.
Relief Awareness is a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to raise awareness of the effect of major disasters and provide financial relief to survivors locally, nationally and worldwide. Laughing Children Smile is the Lubbock Gunslingers campaign to collect much needed items throughout the year for the Children's Home of Lubbock.
"In addition to raising funds for local charities, the parade is also a great opportunity for the Gunslingers and local residents to show their support for the smaller, local businesses, a major asset to the Lubbock business community," stated Tiffany Hurd, General Manager of the Gunslingers.
The Parade Wranglers, who are specially nominated and screened local members of the Lubbock community, are the support group for the parade. The parades 3.4 mile journey begins on 34th street and Toledo where 20,000 spectators are anticipated, and around 60 lighted floats will be featured. The Wranglers "will be the eyes and ears of the parade route, helping to ensure it runs smoothly and retains its entertaining quality," said Head Parade Wrangler, Larry Lindsey.
Some of the Gunslingers' players and owners will also ride the parade route. Gunslingers' Dance Team, the "Gals," will be performing a 90 second routine in front of the grand stand. Join us as we rock around the 34 foot Christmas tree! For more information on the parade please logon to www.miracleson34th.com.
