June 11, 2008 - Intense Football League (Intense)
West Texas Roughnecks News Release

The Odessa Roughnecks proudly announced today, in conjunction with Medical Center Hospital and Kicks 99 FM, plans to attempt to donate $10,000 to the Children's Miracle Network. On June 21st as the Roughnecks face the Fairbanks Grizzlies at Benny Boyd Field in the Ector County Coliseum, the team will donate $1 for each ticket sold between today's date and game time. If the team should sell out the event, Team President Tommy Benizio announced that the Roughnecks will donate an even $10,000 to the charity. With 2,736 tickets sold already, only 2,353 still need to be purchased for the charitable promotion to be considered a success. The Roughnecks are averaging close to 4,000 fans per game this season and encourage all residents of the Permian Basin to be apart of an exciting night of Roughnecks football while supporting such a great cause.

Children's Miracle Network is the alliance of premier children's hospitals. Every year, CMN hospitals treat 17 million children for every disease and injury imaginable. CMN hospitals impact the lives of more children than any other children's organization in the world. Children's hospitals provide state-of-the-art care, life-saving research and preventative education for children all year long. CMN hospitals provide over $2.5 billion in charity care each year. Medical Center Hospital's CMN Director Rachel Dobbs stated, "Once again we are so blessed and grateful for our relationships with the Odessa Roughnecks and Kicks 99, and we are absolutely excited to witness the Miracle on 42nd Street become a success for another year!"

The first 1,000 fans at the game on June 21st will receive a complimentary 2008 Roughnecks team photo thanks to Anderson Real Estate, and complimentary "Back-packs" thanks to MCH. Additionally, Mike and Dana of the Kicks 99 morning show have pledged to do all it takes to make certain that the game will be sold out. "We were so thankful to CMN when our son was born prematurely. Again, we will do whatever it takes to make sure that this specific game is sold out." says Mike of the morning show.
