FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 25, 2012) - The Palm Beach Cardinals limited Fort Myers to two hits in a 6-2 win over the Miracle on Friday at Hammond Stadium.

Ryan Sherriff allowed just one hit - a solo home run by Josmil Pinto - in six innings. The other Miracle run he gave up was unearned. Relievers Scott Schneider and Logan Billbrough combined to pitch three innings of one-hit ball to shut down the Miracle offense.

The Cardinals raced out to a 3-0 lead in the fourth. They loaded the bases against Miracle starter Miguel Munoz and Jonathan Rodriguez cleared the paths with a three-run double.

Pinto cut the deficit to 3-1 with a leadoff homer in the fifth. The Miracle made it 3-2 in the sixth when Angel Morales walked and later scored on a throwing error by shortstop Ronny Gil.

However, the Cardinals would end up padding their lead. Mike O'Neill plated Jeremy Patton on a fielders choice in the seventh to make it 4-2. In the ninth, a two-out error by Daniel Santana at second led to two runs for Palm Beach.

Munoz lasted a season-long five innings for the Miracle and gave up three runs in the loss.

The Miracle (18-30) continue their three-game series with the Cardinals at Hammond Stadium on Saturday. First pitch for fireworks night is set for 7:05 p.m.

Join the "Voice of the Miracle" Brice Zimmerman and Adam MacDonald for the broadcast at 6:45 p.m. on miraclebaseball.com.
