Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
FORT MYERS, F.L. (January 7, 2008) - The 4th Annual Ballpark Festival of Beers, brought to you by Miracle Baseball, returns to beautiful Hammond Stadium on Saturday, January 26 from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Southwest Florida's largest and oldest beer testing event features over 25 different beers from all over the world.
"This has been one of our most successful off-season events and last year we had to turn people away. We knew there were plenty of beer connoisseurs in the area." said Miracle General Manager Steve Gliner.
Admission is just $20 in advance, $25 day of event, and includes beer sampling tickets and wing sampling tickets. You must be 21 or older to attend. Kids, babies in strollers and anyone under the age of 21 will not be allowed into the event.
Entertainment will be provided by Vintage Vinyl and Utter Chaos.
The first 1,000 patrons will receive a commemorative sampling glass sponsored by Shoeless Joe's Sports Café.
Back for the second year is the popular, "Best of Ballpark Wing Competition". Festival goers will have the opportunity to select the vendor that has the tastiest wings in Southwest Florida.
"We wanted the evening to be more than just beer," said Gliner. "We wanted to make it an event. Something people could come out to and enjoy many different things over the course of the evening and we felt one of those things would be wings. This allows local restaurants who feel their wings are the best to prove it."
There will also be food available for purchase, so you can plan on spending your day at the event.
Advance tickets are on sale now at the Miracle Hammond Stadium offices, located on Six Mile Cypress Parkway. They can also purchased by phone 239-768-4210.
