Minnesota United FC News Release
SAINT PAUL, Minn -- Minnesota United (4W-4D-3L, 16pts) finishes up its Florida road trip Wednesday night at Central Broward Stadium in Fort Lauderdale against the Strikers (3W-2D-5L, 11pts). United started the road trip Saturday night with a 1-1 draw at Miami FC. The match kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and the only place to watch is CBS Sports Network.
Minnesota United currently sits in fourth place in the overall NASL standings, with a five-point cushion over the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The Loons will need to continue to string together positive results to assure themselves of a spot in the four team playoffs. United defeated the Strikers 3-1 at home in July, thanks to goals from JC Banks, Christian Ramirez and Ish Jome. With Ibson still serving his two-match suspension, the Loons may once again need to look to veteran leader Aaron Pitchkolan to secure the midfield.
The Strikers are coming off a bye week and should be well rested heading into tonight's match. Catch all the action at 6:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network or at the Official Minnesota United watch party at Brit's Pub in downtown Minneapolis.
