Minnesota United FC News Release
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Wednesday, April 29th, 2015) -- Minnesota United announced its partnership with Delaware North Sportservice to provide food and beverage catering at home games. Delaware North operates food and beverage and/or retail services at more than 60 sports venues worldwide, including at both Target Field and Target Center in Minneapolis, along with the company-owned-and-operated TD Garden in Boston, Wembley Stadium in London, MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, and Melbourne and Olympic Parks in Australia, to name a handful.
"We are thrilled to be bringing Delaware North into the National Sports Center Stadium," said Minnesota United President Nick Rogers. "This partnership will meaningfully enhance our game day experience for our fans with multiple points of service around the stadium. I think our fans will immediately notice a difference in service, and an increased variety in the food and drink options available to them."
Delaware North - one of the largest privately held hospitality companies in the world - will provide a new and expanded food and beverage selection as well as many new premium concessions options at NSC Stadium. Delaware North has nearly 100 years of experience serving sports fans, including at marquee events such as the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Final, FA Cup Final and All-Star games.
One of the major additions will be a second beer garden in the Southeast corner of the stadium near the scoreboard and Dark Clouds sections. For added convenience, vendors will also walk around sections of the stadium selling beer and snacks to fans in their seats, so they won't have to miss a minute of the action.
Along with stadium service, Delaware North will be bringing several premium services to the game day experience. Fans sitting in premium sections will be able to order food and beverage options from their seats from special menus, with delivery to their seats. Carousel Pitchside Cabanas will also have food options added to drinks provided in the cabana package.
The partnership also brings the new Heineken Terrace to NSC Stadium. The area will provide a VIP experience for patrons along with free Heineken products and an elevated view of the pitch from the north end line.
"We are certainly very excited about our partnership with Minnesota United," said Peter Spike, Delaware North's district general manager at Target Field, who will be overseeing the company's operation at the National Sports Center. "We take a lot of pride in our role in enhancing the game-day experience and couldn't be happier to serve another fan base here in Minnesota."
