SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota United goalkeeper Steward Ceus has been called up for international duty with Haiti for Copa América Centenario. Ceus joined the Loons at the beginning of May and was named to Haiti's preliminary roster earlier this month. This is Ceus' first call up since March for 2018 World Cup Qualifying matches against Panama.
"Being called in to represent Haiti is a great honor for me," said Ceus. "I am proud to wear my team colors for Haiti at Copa América."
Ceus has been on United's bench for the past three matches, backing up Sammy Ndjock.
A native of West Haverstraw, New York, he got his first call up in 2010 to represent Haiti during the Caribbean Cup. He has made eight appearances at the international level. His most recent action was the Copa América Centenario qualifying match against Trinidad and Tobago in January where Ceus recorded a shutout victory.
Haiti begins Copa América Centenario play on June 4th in Seattle against Peru. It then face Brazil and Ecuador to finish out its group stage matches.
