Minnesota United Announces Jersey Sponsorship with Mall of America

Minneapolis, Minn. (Monday, May 12th, 2014) -- Minnesota United FC today announced it has agreed to a partnership with Mall of America® to showcase its logo on the sleeves of all 2014 home and away jerseys.

"Mall of America is one of the most visible and visited institutions in the entire state of Minnesota," said United president Nick Rogers. "It's extremely gratifying for us that they recognize the trajectory that we are on and want to be associated with the club. We are elated to have them as a sponsor and it's a relationship that I think will benefit the team for a long time."

The Mall of America logo will make its debut adorning the sleeve of Minnesota's home jersey on Saturday, May 17th when United faces the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at the National Sports Center Stadium in Blaine, Minn.

"Minnesota United is a young, energetic brand which fits well with our core audience. And with more than 75,000 registered youth soccer players in Minnesota, this is a sport that continues to grow in players and fans. We look forward to sharing our brand with all United fans."

Minnesota United and Mall of America are also happy to introduce the #MOAMVP, a season-long social media contest where fans are asked to tag photos of their favorite Minnesota United players through social media with the #MOAMVP hashtag. The contest will include monthly prizes and will culminate in a $5,000 donation from Mall of America to the #MOAMVP's charity of choice. The contest kicks off May 17th at the United home game vs. the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

Undefeated Minnesota United is in New York tonight and set to face the Cosmos, kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CDT.
