Scorpions Forward Jonathan Faña Requested For International Duty by Dominican Republic National Team

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Monday, May 12, 2014) - The San Antonio Scorpions are proud to announce that La Federación Dominicana de Fútbol has requested forward Jonathan Fa ñ a for their friendly against Indonesia on May 15 at Manahan Stadium in Surakarta City.

"The technical staff and Scorpions players would like to congratulate Jonathan on being asked to play internationally for La Federación Dominicana de Fútbol," said Head Coach Alen Marcina. "It is an honor to represent your country and we wish him and his team the very best for their upcoming games. We know he will make all Scorpions and NASL fans proud as he represents himself globally."

This will be Faña's 26th cap for his country, which is the most among the current pool of players for the Dominican Republic. He is the all-time leading scorer for Los Quisqueyanos with 16 goals in international play.

San Antonio will host two major international friendlies against famed Liga MX clubs this summer at Toyota Field. On June 21st at 7:30pm, they will face Tigres de la UANL and then on July 6th at 6:00pm, the Scorpions will take on Club de Fútbol Monterrey.
